Dr. Heather D. Rogers’ Guide to Using Night Repair Treatment and Tretinoin

The Night Repair Treatment and prescription tretinoin be used together, or should one replace the other? In this blog post, I share my perspective on combining these skincare products and explain the unique benefits of my Night Repair Treatment, particularly for those with mature and sensitive skin.

Let's start by addressing the compatibility of tretinoin (a prescription form of retinol) with my Night Repair Treatment. If your skin can handle prescription-strength tretinoin without irritation, then by all means, continue using it. Tretinoin is a powerful retinoid known for its remarkable results. However, as we age, our skin tends to become thinner and less oily, making tretinoin harder to tolerate, even at lower concentrations.

The reason I developed my Night Repair Treatment was to provide similar benefits to tretinoin without the risk of irritation and inflammation. This innovative product contains bakuchiol, a compound similar to tretinoin, but much gentler on sensitive skin. Additionally, it features glycolic acid and a polyhydroxy acid, both of which contribute to improved cell turnover, collagen production, and addressing common issues like brown spots and uneven texture. The beauty of my Night Repair Treatment lies in its ability to deliver these benefits without the downtime and discomfort often associated with tretinoin.

For those who can tolerate tretinoin on a nightly basis, keep using it. You do not need to use the Night Repair Treatment. For those that can only tolerate tretinoin on some nights, use the Night Repair Treatments on the nights you don’t apply tretinoin. For those that do not use or cannot tolerate tretinoin at all, you should apply the Night Repair Treatment nightly as tolerated

The night repair treatment was created to offer an effective solution to individuals who could no longer tolerate tretinoin due to skin sensitivity. I envisioned a powerful alternative that delivers results without causing discomfort or retinoid dermatitis. Whether you choose tretinoin or my Night Repair Treatment, remember to follow up with a moisturizer. This step is crucial, especially if you have sensitive skin. My nourishing Face Cream is an excellent choice to keep your skin hydrated and comfortable throughout your skincare routine.

Both tretinoin and my Night Repair Treatment can play vital roles in your skincare journey, depending on your skin's unique needs and tolerance levels. If tretinoin works well for you, continue using it and ensure you moisturize adequately. However, if you experience any discomfort with tretinoin or have mature, sensitive skin, my Night Repair Treatment offers a gentle yet effective alternative. The key is to use these products on alternate nights to avoid overwhelming your skin.
